I had mentioned in an earlier blog that I like to make lists, especially lists of things I find while reading and studying the Bible. That is what happened again as I read through Jeremiah 33.
Ten I WILLS of God’s promises to His children
1. I will answer your calls to me, v.3; all I have to do is call on Him and He answers.
2. I will heal them, v.6, not just healing, but "abundance of prosperity and security."
3. I will restore their good fortune, v.7
4. I will cleanse their guilt, v.8, "... cleanse them from all the guilt of their sin against me," God says.
5. I will forgive their sin and rebellion, v.8b
6. I will provide good and prosperity, v.9, so much so that the testimony of their lives will be known by everyone.
7. I will give them joy, v.11
8. I will fulfill my promises to them, v.14
9. I will provide a Savior, v.15
10. I will have mercy on them, v.26.
How certain can we be that God will keep His promises? He tells Jeremiah that His promises are as sure as the certainty of day and night.
I cannot be any more certain than that.
